Job Description:
System Engineer will part of IT Infrastructure team that provides design, deployment & support for systems, services and requirements in Flipkart locations. The IT Infrastructure team is also responsible for managing heterogeneous environment & generating metrics related to System performance, capacity, availability, failure rates, etc. Specific experience with Linux & Windows Operating Systems is must with strong technical orientation & creative in problem solving.
Responsibilities & requirements:
Responsible for performance analysis, proactive troubleshooting and capacity planning for the Windows, Linux & Virtualization platforms.
Perform monitoring and maintenance of overall environment working with experienced team members.
Perform change controls. Update process documentation and team portals
Review entire environment and execute initiatives to reduce failures, defects and improving overall performance
Communicate with peers and managers regarding system issues & participate in 24×7 on-call.
Manage equipment tracking
Use scripting languages to automate tasks and gather data.
Ability to handle multiple complex tasks in a dynamic environment, with tight deadlines concurrently.
Ability to use problem solving techniques such as root cause analysis to resolve issues.
Manage the ITAM and ITSM tools
Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience with Windows, Linux operating systems
1+ years hands on experience with Citirx Xen, VMware ESXi, vSphere
Scripting knowledge in one of the following languages (Powershell, Shell, Perl, Python)
Knowledge of SCCM and Symantec/Mcafee endpoint protection
Experience in TCP/IP networking, DNS, AD, LDAP, SMTP, IMAP , Linux account management, NFS, iSCSI
Experience in Redhat, Ubuntu, OS X and Windows operating systems
Good Verbal and written communication skills
BE in Electronics/Computer Science
