Job Description:
This is a Residential Mortgage Underwriting process which involves a complete analysis of the loan parameters and the borrowers details pertaining to Income, credit and assets.
Candidate shall be responsible for rendering decisions on credit applications based on established criteria. Determine creditworthiness, risk associated with borrower based on credit profile and Income worthiness (Income analysis) of the borrower. Communicate decisions that most effectively mitigate credit risks, including data integrity and validity of information submitted. Applies understanding of established guidelines, Fair Lending and all other regulatory requirements when evaluating loan attributes while utilizing prudent underwriting judgment and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Works under moderate supervision; acquires and applies maturing knowledge of the business, its products, and processes.
- Evaluate and verify applications determining whether borrower will be able to repay the loan by performing a detailed income verification (Income Verification and analysis)
Verify income and employment information, - Review credit history, including Bankruptcy, Fraud alerts, Bankruptcy Discharge, Delinquency and Foreclosures. (Credit Review and Analysis)
- Calculate the value of the borrowers collateral and assets (Asset Review and Analysis)
- Ensure that the property specifications and loan terms meet Banks requirements and government regulations.
Skills Required:

- Good analytical and audit skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills along with good listening skills
- Knowledge pertaining to the regulations governing mortgage lending.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline preferably B. Com/BBA/MBA.
- 3 to 5 years of overall banking experience with a minimum of 1 to 2 years experience in residential Mortgage Underwriting for Conventional/FHA/VA loans.
- Willingness to work in night shifts is a must.Role & responsibilities
