Job Description:
Quality Assurance Tech at Amazon test cutting edge applications and products at the user level, both manually and with automated tools. They are excellent individual contributors capable of taking up tasks from start to completion, with guidance. QAT would be responsible for understanding the features and components and detailed functional requirements well enough, coming up with the test cases with some guidance, test execution and reporting with high bar on quality. QATs are technically savvy in use of software, computers and devices, runs automated scripts, analyzes failures, support automation, can install and configure software, can use debug settings, have technical ability to gather logs, traces, etc. to add to bug reports when provided with instructions. They assist developers or other testers and maintain a high-quality test environment, recommends improvements to SOPs, tools and metrics. QATs at Amazon are excellent individual contributors capable of understanding and driving test execution with minimal help. They work towards understanding system performance, functionality, and features to great depth enabling them to report issues, take ownership and drive them to closure. QATs are highly accurate in performing test assignments and reporting the behavior ensuring that there is no ambiguity while reproducing issues. High quality and accuracy are maintained throughout software releases without compromising on deadlines.Key job responsibilities Quality Assurance Techs (QATs) will test applications and products at the user level, both manually and with automated tools. QATs at Amazon are individual contributors capable of taking on tasks of test case execution from start to completion with minimal help. QATs are responsible for understanding the product in detail, and updating the test case tool with test execution results. They automate, write and maintain black- box test cases based on well- defined feature requirements, writing tests cases (not test plans) that are high quality, high value, and maintainable. QATs will debug problems using log files and reproduce errant product behavior to assist developers or other testers and identify, track, and accurately report defects found. Run automated scripts, analyze failures, support automation. Assist developers or other testers and maintain a high-quality test environment, recommends improvements to SOPs, tools and metrics.
Basic Qualifications:
- BE, BTech, Master of computer Applications (MCA), MSc Information Technology (IT) or graduate with 2+ years of experience in software automation testing.
- Manual test experience in software or hardware products, testing expertise by working closely with QA/Dev teams.
- Should have good communication, ability to understand technical specifications and analyze log files.
- Knowledge of QA methodology and tools.
- Have good understanding of automation framework to maintain automation scripts, debug and trouble shoot failures as appropriate.
