ISRO Medical Officer Recruitment 2026 – Overview

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), through its Human Space Flight Centre (HSFC), Bengaluru, has invited applications for the direct recruitment of Medical Officer – SD under Group A posts. Eligible medical professionals with the required MBBS and postgraduate qualifications can apply for this recruitment.

The selected candidates will contribute to medical research, physiological monitoring, astronaut health assessment and healthcare activities associated with India’s Human Space Flight Programme.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess an MBBS qualification along with the relevant postgraduate qualification specified for the selected discipline.

General Medicine (Post Code 01): MBBS and MD or DNB in General Medicine (Internal Medicine).
Physiology (Post Code 02): MBBS and MD in Physiology.
Aerospace Medicine (Post Code 03): MBBS and MD in Aerospace Medicine.

The required qualifications must be recognised and registered with the Medical Council of India, State Medical Council or National Medical Commission, as applicable. Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements by 8 November 2026.

Age Limit

There is no upper age limit specified for Post Codes 01 to 03 in this notification.

Salary and Pay Scale

Selected candidates will be appointed at Level 11 of the Pay Matrix, with a basic pay of Rs. 67,700 per month.

Non-Practising Allowance (NPA) at 20% of basic pay is admissible subject to applicable Government of India rules. Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance and other eligible benefits will be provided as per the applicable rules.

The position also carries applicable benefits such as medical facilities for employees and dependants, subsidised canteen facilities, leave travel concession and other admissible benefits.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of:

Screening of applications.
Personal interview.

Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria may be shortlisted for an interview based on the screening process. Final selection will be based on the prescribed recruitment procedure.

Application Fee

The notification specifies an initial payment of Rs. 750 per application, with refunds subject to the prescribed conditions.

Candidates exempted from the application fee, including women, SC/ST/PwBD candidates and ex-servicemen, are eligible for a full refund of Rs. 750 if they attend the interview.
Other candidates who attend the interview will receive a refund of Rs. 500, with Rs. 250 retained as the application fee.

Candidates must pay through the BharatKosh/NTRP portal and attach the payment receipt to their application. Applicable payment platform service charges are borne by the applicant.
