Job Description:
Essential Job Functions:
- Review mortgage loan files thoroughly
- Accurately enter data into the loan system
- Underwrite loans in accordance with client guidelines
- Ensure accuracy and compliance of loan documents
- Address issues promptly and provide top-notch customer service
- Stay updated on client and investor requirements
- Assist colleagues in understanding underwriting decisions
- Work efficiently in a high-pressure environment
Requirements:
- Minimum 1.5 + years of current conventional mortgage underwriting experience
- Proficiency in income calculations, tax returns, and credit report analysis
- Understanding of appraisal processes and red flags
- Knowledge of underwriting guidelines and automated systems
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in multiple systems and willing to work in a secure environment
- NMLS-MLO Licensure preferred
- Availability to work beyond regular hours when necessary
