Job Description:

Role & responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy Java / Spring Boot applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Build and maintain microservices and RESTful APIs with scalable, cloudnative architecture.
• Work with key GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Run, App Engine, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, Firestore, BigQuery, Cloud Storage.
• Ensure end-to-end integration between microservices and GCP components for secure and seamless communication.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability across distributed systems.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams on containerization and deployment using Docker and optionally GKE.
• Integrate logging, monitoring, and alerting using Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring (Stackdriver).
• Apply secure coding practices and implement authentication/authorization (OAuth2, JWT).
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform RCA (root cause analysis), and drive performance improvements.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and contribute to architectural decisions.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong hands-on experience in Java 8+, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Good understanding of GCP cloud-native development and core services.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and deployments on Cloud Run / GKE / App Engine.
• Knowledge of relational & NoSQL databases (Cloud SQL, Firestore, BigQuery preferred).
• Familiarity with messaging systems like Pub/Sub or Kafka.
• Experience building automated pipelines and working with Git-based workflows.
• Understanding of cloud security practices, API security, and distributed systems.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional, agile environments.
• GCP certifications (ACE, Professional Cloud Developer) are a plus.
